John Deaton for Senate Inc.
Official Campaign Website
It’s a great honor for me to accept this endorsement by the Log Cabin Republicans. On the campaign trail, I have been vocal about my support for marriage equality going back decades when leading figures in the Democratic Party were still promoting civil unions, not gay marriage. As we have seen in recent court decisions, civil protections must be enshrined into federal law, not secured by jurisprudence, and the U.S. Senate has a responsibility to act here. Unlike U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren, I will not wait for another right to be taken away before taking action.

| Standout element | Bold red 'ENDORSED' banner paired with the Log Cabin Republicans logo signals crossover LGBT Republican credibility |
| Tactic | The ad leverages the Log Cabin Republicans endorsement as borrowed credibility to reframe Deaton as a longtime marriage equality supporter, outflanking incumbent Warren on LGBT rights to peel away moderate and LGBT voters. |
