Today I debated my opponent. All in all it was a very cordial experience. However, as my opponent railed against special interest groups I pointed out that in the General Election Cycle ALL of his contributions except ONE have come from Special Interest Groups INCLUDING Altria, better known as Philip Morris (yes that Philip Morris). My opponent claimed that he had no idea what I was talking about. He claimed that he sits down with and vets everyone who gives him money and that many are simply $100 and $200 contributions.
Where are your individual donors that you speak of Marco? You mention them in your posts. Why did you not include them on your reports? I am looking at your Campaign Finance Reports through the most current filed on October 8th. I see one contribution from an individual and the rest are from Special Interest groups and PACS.
In his two Facebook posts since the debate, my opponent has claimed that it was a rookie mistake and that he will send the money back. Marco, I don't care about the money I care about what you say and what you do. And so do the people of Idaho Falls. Will it be another rookie mistake when you vote for a bill that hurts District 33?
You were supported in the Primary because you were different. You were supported because you were standing up to a local party that many felt had lost touch. You vowed to put everyday Idahoans before special interest. You say you are the better choice because of your experience. And then you ask forgiveness because you are new at this and make mistakes. Which is it?
So don't call me dishonest. You are the one that said something not true. And, you later admitted it when you did, to your credit, accept responsibility for your mistake.
I am not scared, I am not dishonest. I am against the unified voice of the single party in Boise that you and Barb are now championing.
If anything, I am disappointed. You are not even in office and you have already fallen in line with the local GOP party that you stood against in the primary.
Idaho Falls expected more of you, I know I did.
