Now, more than 60 years after the Voting Rights Act was signed into law, I never imagined we would still be fighting to protect that promise. When I am elected to represent you in the U.S. Senate, I will fight to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act to defend the rights my father and thousands of Americans fought for during the civil rights movement.
