SARAH ADLAKHA FOR SENATE

I spent yesterday at the Veteran’s parade in Gulfport and this morning at the Veteran’s Service with Pastor Perkins at Grace Baptist Church in Ocean Springs, and it hit me all over again why this mission matters. I’m the daughter of a Navy vet. I helped launch a PTSD clinic at the VA during my residency. I’ve looked veterans in the eyes as they fought battles that didn’t end when the uniform came off. Our heroes already navigate PTSD, TBI, chronic pain, and a benefits system that too often feels like an obstacle course. And now, because of this shutdown, the very programs that help them transition, plan careers, and file claims are frozen. The backlog grows. The wait gets longer. And veterans, the very people who kept this country standing, pay the price. That is unacceptable. Mississippi veterans deserve a government that honors their service with action, not excuses. Not someday. Not when the politics settle. Every single day. I’m running to make sure they’re never pushed to the back of the line again.
