MS GOP raised the qualifier fee to $5k for U.S. Senate race. A $5,000 fee just to put your name on the ballot for a political party seems very out of reach for most everyday people who are struggling now just to make ends meet and provide for their families. This would be enough of a hurdle to keep some people from ever even considering it, further protecting the establishment. For far too long, the powers that be have pulled the strings of power from behind the curtains, while the actual everyday people have been sold-out and forgotten! Since this seat was first won by Thad Cochran in 1978 (47 years ago), each new Senator has been appointed by the establishment and then ran on incumbency. Let's show them Mississippi doesn't want or need another extension of an appointed reign of the establishment's pick. Let's show them it's time an everyday Mississippian with a real plan, solutions, and platform that solves their problems was elected. Let's show them the people's choice is a U.S. Senator that puts the PEOPLE over the powerful. To do this, I need your help. We need 50 PATRIOTS to step up and give $100 to secure our place on the ballot. TacticThe ad uses a populist anti-establishment frame — attacking the $5k ballot fee as a tool of elites to block ordinary citizens — to position Smith as the outsider champion of forgotten everyday people and simultaneously drive donations.
