Coming to your neighborhood soon!!! Watch your doors. I'll be out to your neighborhood so I can get a chance to meet the voters of the new State House District 26. I can't wait to hear what you are most concerned about for Indiana!
I've already visited Tippecanoe Township precinct 5 and met quite a few of you! Many people are concerned about the price of gasoline and inflation! The Indiana House democrats have asked for a break on the Indiana gasoline tax that is about to go up 75 cents a gallon. Indiana is exceeding the constitutionally allowed surplus, about to reach $6.5 billion. One way to give a break to drivers would be to now collect this excess tax or return tax dollars directly to Hoosiers. We are going to to returning for a special session to return an estimated $225 to individuals or families in the next couple weeks. It is however also a time that we hear that the GOP leadership will be creating stricter abortion laws which Indiana already leads in restrictive abortion laws along with being the third leading state for maternal and infant mortality rates. I want to reduce the need for abortions also but I believe Indiana has done enough to make abortions restrictive. I want Indiana to focus on ways to prevent the need for abortions by giving women access to affordable maternity healthcare, and give families access to affordable healthcare after the baby is born. I want to reduce infant and maternal deaths by creating a paid family medical leave program in the state and living wages and access to birth control.
You should realize by now how much I care about CMV, Cytomegalovirus which is the leading infectious cause of birth defects which would also decrease infant death and many birth defects, including deafness, blindness, learning and motor delays and impairments, seizures, and microcephaly.
This week I'll be in Tippecanoe Township Precinct 6.
