ERIK MURRAY FOR KANSAS
Alyssa Here! One of the hardest parts of this race has been something I didn’t fully see coming. The things people say. The narratives they spin. Not even about me sometimes, but about my dad. Hateful comments, careless words, people being cruel in ways that stick with you longer than they should. But behind every campaign, there’s a real family. A real man. A daughter who sees it all. So I want to share three things I love about my dad. First, he listens. He’s one of the smartest people I’ve ever met, but he’s still willing to step back, unlearn, and grow. That matters. We need more leaders who actually listen before they act. Second, he genuinely cares about people. Not for show. Not for politics. He cares about community in a real way, and you can feel it when you’re around him. Third, he does the right thing, even when it’s hard. And trust me, in this work, it gets really hard. But he stays steady. He shows up. He hasn’t let me down once.
