This has been needed for a long time, and I thank President Trump for moving forward on closing the Department of Education. Education is best run by the states and the local level. That is where the best education policy is set. I also want to give a shout out to our Superintendent of Education in Louisiana, Cade Brumley, for leading our state to the greatest increases in education rankings we have ever seen. And the best is yet to come! If we are ever going to right-size the bloated bureaucracy of the federal government (which we must do), it starts with moments like these.
