I have two daughters who are going back to school right now, in 8th and 10th grades. Many of you are in the same boat, with back to school excitement and dread. How do we as parents protect them in today’s world, but also give them the independence and support they need? I truly believe that one of the answers is kindness. Teach our kids to be nice to the kid who eats alone, to reach out to make friends, to celebrate everyone regardless of differences. Practicing kindness and acceptance spreads it like wildfire. We need to model this for our kids in our everyday lives as well, showing acceptance and kindness to everyone we meet, no matter what our disagreements with them. I am running as an independent for US Senate in Colorado in 2026, because I believe this same philosophy can heal our politics, just like it can heal our schools. It’s not a magic wand, it’s daily work, but I think we can do it. If you think we can do it too, find out more about me and my candidacy here: https://www.ussenateclintonrooseveltdale.org/ Thank you, and Happy School Year!!!
