SBA approves more than $70M in new relief funding for struggling NH small businesses, Shaheen says

The U.S. Small Business Administration has approved more than $70 million in emergency loans and grants for more than 5,500 New Hampshire small businesses struggling as a result of the coronavirus outbreak, Sen. Jeanne Shaheen said Tuesday.

"'We need to make sure that help is quickly getting to small businesses that are truly hurting, as the law intended, and is not being funneled to corporations that don’t need it or favored for larger businesses that have relationships with big banks.' Earlier Tuesday, Shaheen called for virtual oversight hearings on the implementation of small business relief programs in the CARES Act, saying that small lenders and small businesses are being 'crowded out' of access to funding."
