The Committee to Elect David Roth

Many people ask me why I am running. Of course I am running for better education and healthcare, but I don’t want to forget those who paved the way for future generations. This is my Grandmother. She stopped by my school today and decided to play an impromptu concert. Maybe not so impressive when you think about it even considering she has not played an organ in years. And perhaps you can look past the fact that she does not read music. If none of that stands out, what might is that she is 103 years old! My grandmother has lived through both World Wars, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, September 11, the Spanish Flu, the depression, the dustbowl, the civil rights movement, Kennedy’s death, the moon landing, and she just keeps going. In fact she is one of the hardest working people that I know. Her motto has always been “you just keep going until you have nothing left, then you take a breath and keep going”. I am campaigning for people like my grandmother. People who are not done and who are not expendable, who deserve protections from their property tax increasing at a faster rate then their fixed income, who simply want to enjoy the fruits of a lifetime of labor. I have said many times that my campaign is about US not me. People are who matter and are who we are supposed to be representing. I will work to represent the people of District 33. TacticThe ad uses radical authenticity and a disarming personal story — a 103-year-old grandmother's spontaneous organ concert — to build emotional warmth and humanize the candidate through family storytelling rather than policy messaging.
