After retiring as a lieutenant colonel, he and his family chose South Dakota as home. He has taught law and policy at the U.S. Air Force Academy, the NATO School in Germany, and Northern State University in Aberdeen. Most recently, he served the people of South Dakota as a National Park Ranger in the Black Hills. Brian is stepping forward as a lifelong independent to bring integrity, accountability, and common-sense leadership back to South Dakota.
