On August 1, 2024, Act 314 became law. I’m proud to have authored and passed this crucial legislation with full support from Governor Jeff Landry . This law bans sanctuary cities in Louisiana and requires our law enforcement to work with federal authorities to deport illegal immigrants who commit crimes in our communities. With over 10 million people crossing our southern border illegally in just three years, we're facing a crisis. But in Louisiana, we don't just talk - we act. We're giving our brave law enforcement the tools they need to keep our families safe. To those who would undermine our safety, know this: In Louisiana, we don't bend, we don't break, and we never back down. #NoSanctuaryCities #LouisianaStrong #BorderSecurity #LawAndOrder #KeepLouisianaSafe #LouisianaLegislature
