Rebecca Whiting
Transparency means not hiding or censoring information. While I can understand why some people may feel inclined to feel like they should, purposefully pursuing a public servant position should be a sign that you are intentionally not going to allow that to corrupt the legacy you leave behind during your time in office. I am a brutally honest person. Almost to my detriment. Not everybody likes what I have to say, and that's okay. But there are a few things I can try to reassure people with what that will mean from me- 1- Always being honest means you'll never have to question where I stand. 2- I don't censor information. I have nothing to apologize for and nothing to hide. 3- I'm open to conversation. If you think I'm wrong, tell me. We can have a conversation. 4- Sometimes I'm wrong. I'm open to learning and can admit when I need more information. The dialogue must stay open between board members and the public. Board members have a responsibility to not dismiss public concerns and issues. Ultimately, that's why I decided to run. Because I felt like nobody was listening. My comment box is always open. Like my sign? Get in touch and I'll get you one! Look for me on the ballot November 8th! #whitingforbemidji
