Great news for the Broussard area along Highway 90! A new overpass with exits at US Highway 90 & Ambassador Caffery Parkway will began construction this fiscal year at a cost of $136 million dollars. The project also includes frontage road upgrades that will cross the BNSF railroad tracks. This is another step forward in upgrading US Highway 90 to Interstate 49 standards. This is made possible with funds that I worked alongside my colleagues in the Acadiana Delegation to secure back in 2019 through redirecting Deepwater Horizon settlement dollars to the Construction Subfund of the Transportation Trust Fund. The dollars in this subfund can only be used on construction projects and not on the overhead costs of the state agency like salaries and retirement.
