Today is National Pet Memorial Day, a day that holds a special place in my heart this year. Earlier, we lost our beloved rescue dog, Cypress, to sudden organ failure. She passed away in my hands, leaving us heartbroken but grateful for the time we had with her. Cypress, a Miniature Australian Shepherd with fur the same color as my wife and daughter’s hair, came into our lives in the most unexpected way. We found her skinny and alone under our partially built home out in the country. We took her in, and the next two years were filled with joy and love that only a pet can bring. Although we miss her every day, we take comfort in knowing we gave her a loving home. Today, we celebrate her life and the unconditional love she gave us. #NationalPetMemorialDay #RememberingCypress
